History:

In 1835, James Busby was granted land on the banks of ‘Hunter’s River’ as a reward for his services to the new Colony. On his property, Kirkton, he established the first commercial vineyards on the rich alluvial soils, producing Australia’s first Chardonnay wine. He is considered the father of Hunter Valley viticulture.

Our 50 acre property is part of the original grant and today, you can still find remains of his historic vineyard surviving in the Busby family cemetery at nearby Kirkton.

Your queen bedroom is complimented by an ensuite with shower and spa bath.
